- A well-established mid-sized law firm is seeking an Associate / Trial Attorney to join its fast-paced litigation team. The firm specializes in insurance defense with a focus on design professionals including architects and engineers.
- The successful candidate will manage cases from inception through trial, including discovery, motion practice, and client communication.
- Handle cases from initial intake, including client meetings and project file review.
- Provide legal advice and assess facts, issues, and potential case strategies.
- Plan and execute discovery, including drafting case management orders.
- Work collaboratively with legal staff to prepare pre-trial motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
- Draft correspondence, status reports, stipulations, and other legal documents as required.
- Propound and respond to discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare and argue motions.
- Assist with trial preparation and participate in hearings and trials as needed.
- Juris Doctor and active California Bar license required.
- 2-4 years of litigation or trial experience.
- Strong oral advocacy, legal writing, and analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of civil procedure, trial procedure, and evidence code.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience in construction defect law.
- Jury trial and/or extensive law and motion experience.
- Salary Range: Depending upon experience.
