Ambulatory Oncology Pharmacist

Job Title: Oncology Pharmacist (Contract)

Contract Duration: Now through May 31, 2026

Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Location: Minden, Louisiana

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Pharmacist to support a leading cancer care organization dedicated to providing advanced treatments, clinical excellence, and comprehensive patient support. This role will contribute directly to improving patient outcomes by ensuring safe, effective medication management within oncology care.

As oncology therapies continue to evolve, this position requires an individual with strong clinical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

This is a contract position offering a valuable opportunity to work within a progressive cancer care environment while supporting ongoing clinical and operational initiatives.

Scope & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy leadership for oncology infusion and specialty pharmacy services.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical teams to develop drug management strategies, clinical pathways, guidelines, and evidence-based treatment protocols.
• Participate in multidisciplinary committees and support value-based care initiatives.
• Lead and participate in education programs for providers, nursing staff, and pharmacy teams.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies (Board of Pharmacy, FDA, USP, etc.).
• Conduct utilization reviews, drug use audits, and monitor key quality metrics.
• Review clinical treatments, monitor labs for organ function changes, and recommend dosage adjustments.
• Provide clinical oversight for infusion and retail pharmacy operations, including inventory management.
• Ensure safe, compliant preparation of sterile compounds (hazardous and non-hazardous).
• Supervise and train team members on sterile compounding, order verification, and workflow processes.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative work environment with minimal supervision.
  
  

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana Pharmacy License in good standing (required)
• PharmD (preferred)
• Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) (preferred)
• 3-5 years of pharmacist experience, ideally with oncology specialty
• Strong leadership, clinical, and project-management skills.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
