Accounting Consultant

Role Description Accounting Consultant is a full-time, remote position. The consultant will manage and support clients' Unanet accounting and project systems, including configuration, maintenance, and process optimization. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining general ledger integrity, supporting month-end close, and producing accurate and timely financial statements and reports. The role also involves analyzing financial data, troubleshooting system and accounting issues, recommending process improvements, and training client staff on Unanet functionality and best practices. The consultant will collaborate closely with client finance and operations teams to ensure compliance with government contracting requirements and to align system workflows with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-15 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, DCAA and month‑end close processes.
• Experience managing accounting for multiple entities or clients.
• Proficiency with Unanet.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
• Excellent communication skills and client‑service orientation.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Unanet implementation certified
• Experience in outsourced accounting, public accounting, or multi‑client environments.
• Familiarity with GovCon accounting, indirect rates, or DCAA compliance.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple clients.
