Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Core Java Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Core Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining high-performance applications related to market data feeds and fixed income trading/analytics platforms. Your expertise will enable us to deliver real-time data solutions crucial for trading, risk management, and analytics.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within NYC, NY is $110k - $130k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based applications supporting market data ingestion, processing, and distribution.
• Work closely with quantitative analysts, traders, and data engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Implement low-latency, high-availability systems for real-time market data processing.
• Integrate with external market data providers, trading platforms, and other financial systems.
• Optimize existing code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and improve system robustness.
• Follow best practices in software development, including version control, testing, and documentation.
• Stay updated with market data industry standards and fixed income product developments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (Java 8 ), multithreading, and concurrency.
• Prior experience working within financial markets, especially in Market Data and Fixed Income domains.
• Hands-on experience with real-time data streaming, messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and APIs.
• Knowledge of fixed income securities, bonds, interest rate products, and associated data.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with distributed computing frameworks and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of data normalization and market data cleansing techniques.
• Exposure to performance tuning and low-latency system design.
• Familiarity with financial protocols like FIX, FAST, or similar standards.
• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
