Our challenge

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Java Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing code and ensure the quality and performance of software application.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is $110K to $145K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role:

Responsibilities:

• Write core java code adhering to overall architecture and design of existing applications
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to resolve any issues reported by QA / Test Analysis
• Understand performance metric and factors affecting the performance and find ways to improve it
• Leverage automation for increased efficiency
• Track own progress to ensure timely delivery
• Bring in fresh ideas to make improvements
• Participate in code reviews for own as well as others’ code
• Work with other teams involved in project life-cycle

Requirements:

• At least 12 years of expereince in IT industry.
• 10 years of experience as a Java developer utilizing Java 8 or newer versions and the supporting platforms such as Eclipse, SpringBoot, multithreading, code repository (i.e. BitBucket)
• Knowledge on internals of hash map, hash collisions, etc
• Debugging memory leaks and troubleshoot performance issues in Java
• Good understanding on Kafka
• Experience in CI / CD pipelines and GCP
• 7 years of experience of DevOps
• Experience with relational database (Oracle) & SQL
• Proficient with ansible, jenkins pipelines, Chef
• Proficient with UNIX/Linux and shell scripts
• Banking/Finance/Trading experience is preferred.

Preferred, but not required:

• Work experience in PCF, Google Cloud Platform is plus
• Experience in trading domain.
• Good exposure various database NOSQL, Couchbase, Cassandra.
