About the Role
We are currently looking for Ignition Engineers who will design and maintain industrial control systems using the Inductive Automation Ignition platform. This role emphasizes backend development, scalable SCADA architecture, and integration with manufacturing systems. The engineer will work cross-functionally with IT, Engineering, and Operations to deliver secure, high-performance, and maintainable solutions.vijayanand.jayabalan@syncrediblesolutions.com for further details.
Core Responsibilities
- Ignition Development: Build SCADA applications using Ignition Vision and Perspective.
- Scripting: Develop modular scripts, gateway events, and tag change scripts using Python/Jython.
- Database Integration: Design schemas, write SQL queries, and optimize data logging/reporting.
- System Integration: Interface with PLCs, HMIs, and external systems via OPC-UA, MQTT, and REST APIs.
- Deployment & Support: Commission systems (FAT/SAT), troubleshoot issues, and provide documentation/training.
Growth Areas (Nice to Have)
- Reusable Architecture: Create modular templates and standards across sites.
- AI & Analytics: Support deployment of data models or pipelines (Pandas, NumPy, Snowflake, etc.).
- DevOps & Version Control: Use Git or EAM for collaboration and deployment.
- Data Science Readiness: Prepare systems to support data extraction, labeling, and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake, Pandas, or data engineering tools
- Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, and Git workflows
- Experience with REST API endpoints and authentication
- Regulatory experience (ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, etc.)
- Experience migrating or refactoring legacy SCADA systems
Pay range and compensation package
Payrate is open for right candidates based on their experience
