To support continued growth, we seek a proactive Controller to enhance financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and strengthen compliance and internal controls.
The Controller leads daily accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports strategic financial initiatives. This role collaborates closely with the Director of Accounting and Accounting Manager to manage monthly closes, maintain internal controls, and drive financial planning.
We are seeking candidates that are located within 50-miles of our office in Morrisville, N.C. as this is a hybrid position.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger, reporting, and revenue recognition.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain robust internal controls.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
- Partner with the CEO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
- Oversee financial systems implementation and optimization.
- Mentor and manage the Director of Accounting and Accounting Manager.
- Drive process improvements and automation across finance operations.
- Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors for timely audits and filings.
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
Experience Level: 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in a high-growth software or tech environment
Specialized Skills, Certificates, Licenses: CPA or MBA preferred; proficiency with financial systems and tools (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Excel, FP&A software)
Preferred Skills: Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, revenue recognition, and subscription-based business models; excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills
