Network and IT Technician

Sync Me Up is looking to add an experienced Network Technician to join our growing company. The candidate filling this position will be in control of all phases from design to customer commission and will lead a team of installers for both residential and commercial technology systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain networks for clients including modems, routers, switches, wireless access points, point to points, etc. Provide support for network issues.
• Communicate with end users to determine needs and implement those needs into a functioning smart system.
• Communicate with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.
• Build and maintain network and Audio Visual (AV) racks.
• Terminate and trim-out of low voltage cabling.
• Review manufacturers’ specifications on connections and methods to locate problems.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance and diagnostic tests on Network and AV systems to ensure minimal downtime.
• Adheres to all safety protocols, guidelines, and checklists.
• Develops and maintains logs and records of service calls, time spent, tools and equipment used, and the nature of the call.
• Learn new concepts including Control4 design, security system set up, and other necessary technical tasks
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to design, install, and troubleshoot IT systems including IP reservations, VLANs, VPNs, and remote support tools.
• Ability to use powered hand tools.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong desire to learn other disciplines including home and commercial automation platform Control4

Education and Experience:

• 3 years of IT related experience

Physical Requirements:

• Professional appearance.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Must be comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights.
• Able to work in non-climate controlled environments.
• May be required to work off hours or long hours in case of network malfunction.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
