Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services in real-time through various channels, including over-the-phone, in-person, and virtual settings, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Conduct simultaneous interpretation during live events, meetings, or conferences to facilitate smooth communication among multilingual participants.
• Perform consecutive interpretation for interviews, medical appointments, legal proceedings, educational sessions, and other formal or informal engagements.
• Demonstrate cultural competency by understanding and respecting diverse backgrounds, idioms, and contextual nuances in each language.
• Uphold professional ethics by maintaining confidentiality, impartiality, and neutrality during all interpretation activities.
• Translate written documents or materials as needed to support communication efforts across languages.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to assess language needs and deliver tailored interpretation solutions that meet specific requirements.

Qualifications

• Multilingual proficiency with fluency in English plus at least one additional language; fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in interpretation—over-the-phone, simultaneous, consecutive, or educational interpretation—demonstrating versatility across settings.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey messages accurately while maintaining cultural sensitivity.
• Deep understanding of professional ethics related to confidentiality and impartiality in interpretation roles.
• Knowledge of linguistics principles and translation techniques to enhance accuracy and clarity.
• Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus for inclusive communication efforts.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and the ability to adapt to diverse audiences and environments.
• Educational background or certification in interpretation or translation is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience is highly valued.
