Synaptics is looking for a Corporate Governance & Sustainability Director to join our dynamic and growing organization. You will spearhead the company’s global Corporate Governance and Sustainability (CGS) efforts to ensure operational excellence and long-term environmental and social responsibility. You will define and implement the company’s CGS strategy, goals, and initiatives. This position reports to the SVP, Global Operations.
The typical base pay range for this position is USD $158,000 - $249,700 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Define and execute the strategy to achieve the company’s CGS goals, aligning with business objectives and stakeholder expectations
- Lead company initiatives relating to carbon reduction, resource efficiency, water stewardship, waste minimization, and social impact
- Lead compliance and certification initiatives relating to ISO 14001, EcoVadis, CDP, RBA and customer-specific sustainability audits
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration for CGS reporting, data collection, and submission to rating agencies and customers
- Act as the company’s CGS ambassador, engaging with employees, customers, suppliers, and rating agencies on sustainability progress and performance
- Highly analytical and able to make informed decisions based on experience and sound instincts
- Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently as well as collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs with a collaborative approach
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; able to maintain a sense of urgency while delivering high quality work
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Exceptional critical thinking skills to solve complex problems through the application of experience and use of technology with a solid understanding of business need
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills capable of managing effective communication with both local and globally distributed teams
- The ability to work cross-functionally within a diverse team
- Bachelor’s degree Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, or a related field or equivalent
- 15 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Export Compliance, Government Regulatory practices, Customs, and International Trade Treaties
- Proven ability to translate sustainability challenges into actionable strategies that drive measurable impact
- Proven experience developing and executing CGS strategies and familiarity with reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, or CDP
- Experience leading EcoVadis assessments or equivalent sustainability ratings
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage customers, suppliers, and internal teams effectively
- Global experience preferred; ability to work across cultures and time zones
- Familiarity with ASIC design process and of a fabless semiconductor business a plus
- Travel up to 10%
