The Role: As our Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our billing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This part-time position requires 10 hours per week, and we offer flexibility to fit your schedule. Here’s a snapshot of what your week will look like:
- Private Client Billing (1 hr/wk): Handle billing for private clients and manage ongoing billing tasks with an additional 15-20 minutes each week.
- Early Intervention Billing ( 60-90 min/wk): Manage billing for Early Intervention (EI) services, including CBO and IBU, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
- Insurance Calls for Benefit Checks (30-60 min/wk): Perform benefit checks when Availity is not in use, ensuring clients receive the coverage they need.
- Insurance Calls for Private Insurance (2 hrs/wk): Address issues with accounts, increase visit limits, and handle preauthorizations to keep everything on track.
- Balancing Early Intervention Billing Accounts (5 hrs/week): Dedicate time to balancing EI billing accounts, ideally performing this task for 1 hour per day to maintain accuracy.
- Monthly Billing Statements (1-2 hrs/month): Send out billing statements to clients on a monthly basis, ensuring all information is clear and up-to-date.
What We’re Looking For:
- Local Expertise: We prefer a local candidate who understands the ins and outs of speech therapy and occupational therapy billing, especially with BCBS and United Healthcare.
- Attention to Detail: Precision is key in billing, and we need someone who excels in managing multiple tasks and ensuring accuracy.
- Strong Communication Skills: You’ll be making important calls to insurance companies and clients, so clear and effective communication is essential.
