Your role
1. Operation and Testing
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes
- Perform periodic checks of the wastewater treatment process and associated equipment and take immediate corrective actions if necessary
- Operate all process and material handling equipment
- Maintain open communication with the Operator of Record regarding the treatment process operations and malfunctions
- Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and sludge management
- Perform repairs (as needed/as skill level allows) or assist Maintenance Department with repairs or preventative maintenance
- Respond to site emergencies such as spills and process malfunction as needed
- Provide recommendations for preventive maintenance and continuous improvements
- Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations
- Record process readings and operational data in the wastewater logbook and/or appropriate forms
- Ensure all compliance records and documents are kept up to date
About you
Education and Experience Profile
- High School Diploma or GED required
- A minimum of a Georga ‘Industrial’ Wastewater Operator license (Class IV) is required.
- 1 – 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, preferably operational experience in an industrial wastewater treatment facility
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Maintain a GA Wastewater Class IV (Industrial) License
- Have practical knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct simple equipment malfunctions is beneficial and preferred
- Have a basic knowledge of State and Federal wastewater and occupational safety regulations
