POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Information Specialist (CIS) functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician/NP/PA/CMN and reports to the practice manager. The CIS must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care, assist the clinician in navigating the EMR, research information as requested and capture medical information at the point of care to allow the clinician to provide attentive care that will increase both patient and clinician satisfaction.
QUALIFICATION
- EDUCATION:
- High school graduate or GED required. Medical assistant training program, EMS training, medical coding, strongly preferred. Basic knowledge of Pharmacology, Anatomy, and Physiology preferred.

EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
- Minimum two years within the last 5 years of experience in doctor’s office setting preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
