Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye exams, including vision assessments and detection of various ocular conditions.
- Diagnose and manage a variety of eye health issues such as corneal ulcers, uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular disease, retinal holes, and retinal detachments.
- Treat common eye conditions like red eye and handle foreign body removals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of patients.
- Educate patients on eye health and provide advice on preventive care, lifestyle modifications, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
- State licensure to practice optometry or eligibility to be licensed in the state of practice (including new graduates).
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to manage a variety of ocular conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing anterior and posterior segment pathologies is a plus.
- Comfort with treating a wide range of ocular diseases, including but not limited to corneal ulcers, uveitis, and retinal conditions.
