The Director of Operations is a full-time, salary-exempt position responsible for leading and managing the firm’s operational functions supporting its advisor platform (Axiom) including trading, raising cash and account services. This role ensures seamless execution of trades, efficient cash movement, and exceptional client service delivery. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational expertise, strong leadership skills, and continuous improvement mindset to support the firm’s growth.

The Director of Operations works closely with executive leadership to align operational performance with Symmetry Partners’ mission—to deliver evidence-based investment solutions and exceptional service to advisors and investors. This position reports to the Head, Platform Operations.

Responsibilities:

Trade Operations and Funds Processing
  • Oversee daily equity and fixed income trade order requests from advisors and clients
  • Manage and analyze funding strategies to support trading activities.
  • Ensure accuracy, tax effectiveness and timeliness in execution of trades across custodians and counterparties.
Account Services & Client Operations
  • Lead account opening, maintenance, and servicing processes.
  • Ensure high-quality client service and timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Maintain operational standards for client documentation, transaction processing, and reporting.
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Monitor and mitigate operational risks across trading and account services.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and audit teams to implement controls and address findings.
  • Partner with Compliance to monitor transaction integrity, data protection, and custody requirements.
Process Improvement & Technology
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Partner with technology teams to optimize CRM systems, and automation tools.
  • Support system upgrades and new technology solutions that promote scalable growth.
  • Champion the use of analytics to inform decision-making and drive performance insights.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Manage and mentor teams across trading operations, cash management, and client services.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement to align with Symmetry’s values.
  • Act as a mentor to key staff members.
  • Oversee staffing, training, and performance management.
Collaboration
  • Report and monitor KPIs on operational performance and client satisfaction.
  • Support new business initiatives and product launches from an operational perspective.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure operational excellence aligns with Symmetry’s advisor- and investor-first philosophy.

Minimum Competencies & Qualities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in financial operations, with 3 years in management role
  • Strong understanding of process workflows and continuous improvement principles with experience in process improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of investment operations, compliance frameworks, and financial technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing technology-driven operational functions in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into operational execution.
  • Commitment to operational excellence, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in workflow management (Salesforce Financial Services cloud preferred) and data analytics tools.

Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
