Job Summary
Machinist Tool Shop for the manufacture of general machine shop items as required by manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance shop.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma with some type of technical schooling in Tool manufacturing.
Experience:
Prefer a minimum of 1-2 years working in a tool shop environment requiring the manufacturing of general items and tooling support members.
Required Skills:
General Machinist capability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities outlined below include but are not limited to the following: Other duties may be assigned as needed and/or required.
· Report to the Department/Shift Supervisor or Lead Off.
· Work within the guidelines of the facilities current Business Management System.
· Safe and proper handling and use of all chemicals used for manufacturing.
· Must always wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
· Must be able to safely operate all department equipment, this includes proper start up and shut down activities.
· Verify all safety guards are in place and functional.
· Must have a general capability in blueprint reading.
· Capable of operating general machine shop equipment. (Lathe , Mill)
· Have a general understanding of tooling functions for manufacturing tool adapters.
· Capable of inspection of general items manufactured on all equipment in the Tool Shop.
· General capability in polishing powder metal tooling.
· Show capability of manufacturing individual tooling support members with supervision.
· Working understanding of heat-treating general steels
· Perform other duties as required.
