About the role
As a Compliance Consultant on the Records Management team, you will bring deep expertise in Records Management and governance to support enterprise-wide initiatives and business partners. Responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of retention, defensible destruction, and lifecycle governance practices across systems and business functions.
The position operates with a high degree of independence and requires strong judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate policy into practical execution. Success in this role requires consistently delivering well-structured, business-ready solutions while ensuring records are managed effectively within the broader data lifecycle and aligned to enterprise data governance frameworks.
What you will do
- Lead Records Management initiatives across lines of business, partnering with cross-functional teams (Legal, IT, Compliance, Operations) to implement retention and lifecycle practices.
- Independently manage complex projects, including File Plan development, system and application assessments, and retention automation efforts, with minimal supervision.
- Provide direction to junior team members and ensures timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Advise business management on retention, defensible destruction, and regulatory considerations, and help design scalable processes and controls aligned to operational realities.
- Develop and deliver clear, business-ready materials, training, and guidance to support adoption of Records Management practices.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen processes through standardization, automation, and system alignment; contributes to long-term program development and maturity.
- Perform targeted analysis, regulatory research, and program assessments to support leadership decision-making.

Compensation
$87,900 - $146,500 annually plus eligibility for Company Annual Bonus
Who you are
- High school diploma required
- College degree of equivalent experience required
- 8-10 years of experience building and leading enterprise record management programs.
- Experience with records management in the life insurance industry strongly preferred.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to support evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to translate regulatory requirements into operational practice and apply a broad perspective to challenges.
- Ability to review, interpret, and analyze documentation and data for accuracy, relevance, and compliance.
- Experience using and implementing productivity tools including data analytics and AI-driven solutions.
- Effective in both independent and collaborative environments; comfortable advising senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and other business productivity tools.
