We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Care Attendant (PCA) with hands-on experience in G-tube feeding to support individuals requiring specialized care. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered assistance that promotes safety, dignity, and independence for clients, including children or adults with medical, developmental, or physical needs. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliable communication skills, and the ability to follow medical care plans accurately, including HIPAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Perform G-tube feeding safely and accurately according to prescribed guidelines
- Monitor client health status, document observations, and report any changes to supervising clinicians
- Assist with medication reminders and follow established care plans
- Prepare and serve meals as appropriate, ensuring dietary restrictions or doctor’s orders are followed
- Assist with mobility support, transfers, and use of equipment such as Hoyer lifts
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) when required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the client
- Offer emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to promote overall well-being
- Follow emergency procedures including CPR and First Aid if needed
- Support range-of-motion exercises or therapeutic activities as directed
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience working as a PCA, caregiver, home health aide, or similar role
- G-tube feeding experience required
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, medical fragility, autism, or developmental challenges preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to lift, transfer, and provide physical assistance safely
- Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and report changes in condition
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow detailed medical and behavioral care plans
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
