Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Private Family Office in Solon, Ohio. This role is ideal for a CPA with strong tax expertise who enjoys sophisticated, high‐impact work without the demanding hours and stress of public accounting.
As a key member of our team, you will oversee tax compliance and planning for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and S‐corporations within a confidential, well‐established family office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, private foundations, and other family entities.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, accounting firms, legal counsel, and investment professionals to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance.
- Monitor tax law developments and evaluate their impact on the family's overall tax strategy.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize tax efficiency across family entities and investment structures.
- Review quarterly tax estimates and annual tax projections.
- Maintain tax calendars and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
- Support estate, gift, and succession planning initiatives in collaboration with legal and financial advisors.
- Analyze complex financial transactions, investments, and business activities for tax implications.
- Manage tax audits, notices, and inquiries from taxing authorities.
- Develop and maintain organized tax records and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with the accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA designation required.
- 4 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, a family office, or a private wealth environment.
- Strong knowledge of individual, fiduciary, partnership, gift, and estate taxation.
- Proficient in tax preparation and research.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and discretion.
