Job Description:
Inspectors are responsible for visiting job sites to conduct inspections in accordance with EPA, Idaho DEQ, and local regulatory requirements. They evaluate whether construction sites are complying with stormwater pollution prevention measures outlined in SWPPPs or ESCPs and communicate their findings to Project Managers.
Inspectors report directly to the Inspection Manager. Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented, technologically proficient, honest, hardworking, customer-focused, and humble, with the ability to effectively communicate with both clients and internal teams.
Physical aspects of the position:
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role involves extended periods of sitting while driving, as well as frequent walking and standing, including traversing various types of terrain. The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to safely operate power tools as needed. The employee must also be able to effectively communicate, including the ability to hear and speak clearly, in order to perform job duties. Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions, and the employee must be able to safely and effectively perform duties in all environments.
Responsibilities
· Perform RP inspections as required by the CGP/MSGP/local governing authorities as assigned by the Inspections Manager.
· Accurately document observations during inspections and complete all required inspection reports.
· Keep inspection files updated with inspection photos and reports.
· Make sure construction sites follow the CGP/MSGP as appropriate.
· Collect stormwater samples per schedule; coordinate lab submittals and chain-of-custody; enter results via EPA CDX (Central Data Exchange) and any state/local portals.
· Clearly and effectively communicate with the clients.
· Water Monitoring as assigned.
· Understanding monitoring equipment; its uses and capabilities.
· Installing and Maintaining monitoring equipment.
· Reporting results from monitoring equipment.
· Analyzing data and giving suggestions when problems arise.
Preferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required):
· Bachelor’s Degree, experience in Construction Management, Erosion Control, or other industry related fields is a plus.
· Data entry.
· High organizational skills.
· Ability to monitor and maintain multiple projects at once.
Requirements
· High School diploma or GED required
· Exceptional experience with MS Office Suite Applications: Excel, Word and Outlook
· ERP system experience
· Calm under pressure and deadlines
· Efficient at prioritizing
· Open to change
· Respectful of authority and the chain of command.
· Works as a team
· 2-5 years of customer service experience
· Good at research: Legal documents, regulations and Web browsers
· Exceptional typing skills
· Computer comprehension and knowledge
