Position Summary
The NA Papers Demand Planner manages the demand planning processes, while involving key stakeholders, to generate accurate and timely forecasts, which drive the supply planning and replenishment functions of the S&OP process. This role will provide an opportunity for broad functional exposure in a value-creation driven business environment.
- Key customers of the demand planning process include Sales, Customer Service, Supply & Replenishment Planning, Logistics, Master Planning, SC Data Analyst, and Manufacturing.
- Key outputs include a monthly demand plan, with a 12-month rolling time horizon, at the product and customer level, and tracking of key forecasting metrics.
- Own and control the end-to-end demand planning process.
- Run and continually evaluate the statistical forecasting models to improve forecast accuracy. Research and correct sources of inaccuracy from any source and implement continuous process improvement.
- Provide expert knowledge in forecasting techniques; leverage sales (customer) and marketing knowledge, to improve the accuracy of the demand plan.
- Create and revise short- and medium-term demand forecasts directly impacting manufacturing, inventories, material acquisition and the distribution network.
- Develop long-term forecasts which can act as the basis for strategic and financial planning.
- Communicate, influence and negotiate with Sales, Marketing and key collaborative customers to maximize sales and minimize costs.
- Develop and assure adherence to the planning calendar and organize and conduct consensus meeting.
- Negotiate different forecasts from various sources to create a single demand plan for presentation to management in the consensus meeting.
- Facilitate monthly unconstrained consensus forecasting meeting.
- Distribute (unconstrained) consensus demand plan to supply planning and other key stakeholders. Maintain monthly records and reports for KPI’s (forecast accuracy and bias).
- Need to work at a detail level and then rise above the detail to effectively communicate to process stakeholder’s summary-level analysis.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Be able to influence and get work done through others in order to accomplish goals/tasks.
- Be able to quickly adapt to rapidly changing marketplace, business and organizational conditions.
This position provides support to both the S&OP team, and the larger NAP Supply Chain team to achieve their objectives:
- NA Papers Volume = 1.4MM tons
- 7,000 active SKU’s; 5,400 Finished and 1,600 WIP
- $200MM in Distribution Cost
- $50MM in Packaging
- $200MM of Inventory Value
- 3 years of supply chain experience, preferably with experience in NAP supply chain
- Deliberate Improvement belted certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, and project management.
- Supply chain / logistics theoretical knowledge and application
- Ability to take initiative, determine customer needs, and provide solutions

- Proficiency with business reporting tools: SAP R3/APO, Business Warehouse, Power BI
