Position Description
Title: SCHOOL BOOKKEEPERReports to: Principal
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Maintains school fiscal records (including clubs and athletics); checks and posts invoices and internal records; processes requisitions for internal accounts; receives and disburses monies from various school internal accounts; process checks; monitors discretionary budgets. Keep all books, in accordance with State Department of Education accounting procedures and
- Applies knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices; of laws, rules and regulations related to accounting procedures of school funds in performance of job duties.
- Applies knowledge of School Board policy and
- Maintains and controls departmental budgets; maintains school’s inventory; prepares asset cards; issues purchase orders and deals with
- Issues receipts for monies received. Prepares daily bank deposits. Records deposits and withdrawals; prepares bank
- Reconciles bank statements
- Maintains school financial records. Prepares monthly budget and other internal account reports; accounts for all monies and financial transactions within a school. Submits reports to central office
- Maintains open communication with school principal and chief finance officer regarding school’s
- Assists other personnel as may be
- Works well with school personnel, and the general public while maintaining confidentiality and a high level of ethical
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the
- High school diploma or
