Position Summary
The Sales Manager will lead and oversee both the Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams to ensure SYL Roofing Supply meets and exceeds customer satisfaction, revenue goals, benchmarks, and market share targets. This position requires a results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the roofing supply business, and can coach, support, and hold the team accountable to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the execution of sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals and KPIs.
- Support inside and outside sales reps in identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities (e.g., bundling shingles, underlayment, accessories).
- Develop and oversee call campaigns, pricing strategies, and customer reactivation efforts.
- Ensure proper alignment and collaboration between inside and outside sales for a seamless customer experience.
- Supervise the day-to-day performance of both inside and outside sales teams.
- Set clear expectations, hold weekly 1:1s, and lead sales huddles to reinforce priorities and performance.
- Coach team members on sales techniques, customer communication, and product knowledge.
- Create performance improvement plans and development tracks to support retention and growth.
- Ensure high-quality service is delivered across all customer touchpoints.
- Monitor how both teams manage accounts, follow up on quotes, and resolve customer complaints.
- Lead efforts to reduce customer churn and increase repeat business by supporting long-term relationships.
- Review and analyze sales reports, pipeline activity, and market trends.
- Monitor timely and accurate entry of all customer interactions and transactions into CRM/ERP systems.
- Ensure sales team compliance with company policies, including pricing, returns, and payment collection procedures.
- Track and support order accuracy, material availability, delivery coordination, and claims resolution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the purchasing, warehouse, delivery, and customer service departments to ensure a smooth sales-to-fulfillment process.
- Collaborate with marketing to align on lead generation campaigns and customer engagement efforts.
- Provide feedback to operations and leadership on sales insights, customer needs, and market shifts.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in B2B sales or distribution, preferably in construction or building materials.
- 1 year of supervisory or management experience leading sales teams.
- Proven ability to coach and inspire sales teams to achieve and surpass goals.
- Strong understanding of CRM and sales software.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a must.
