Description Of Duties/Essential Functions
Under supervision, performs a variety of routine technical duties for the Unit related to the specialized area of Group Insurance; processes moderately technical insurance telephone inquiries regarding eligibility and enrollment; reviews transactions for necessary support documentation; processes correction transactions; operates a computer terminal to enter data and/or obtain necessary information; examines and verifies error reports generated by Systems Division.
Minimum Requirements
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school and the successfiul completion of an approved trainee program. Requires the ability to solicit information data from individuals as required in producing conclusions. Requires the ability to read, assimilate and apply rules, regulations and procedures in situations with given facts; a working knowledge of the State Employees’ Group Insurance Act as related to eligibility is preferred. The ability to type and key in specific information in a computer system designed for data entry related to a specialized area is preferred.
