Overview
We are seeking an experienced Rack Build Project Manager to lead end-to-end rack build and integration activities for datacenter deployments. This role manages schedules, logistics, cabling, QA, and cross-functional coordination to ensure racks are delivered on time and meet all build standards.
Note, this is a fully onsite position at our Burlingame location, hybrid or remote is not an option. Only candidates living in a commutable area from the location will be considered at this time.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage rack build schedules, throughput, and daily execution.
- Coordinate logistics, BOM readiness, inbound hardware, and staging.
- Oversee racking, power installs, structured cabling, labeling, imaging, and QA.
- Ensure adherence to mechanical/electrical/cabling standards and safety protocols.
- Drive issue/risk management and maintain accurate reporting in Salesforce.
- Deliver complete rack build packets: photos, asset tags, serial logs, QA signoff.
- Ensure daily build progress is shared with stakeholders.
- Responsible for documenting the issues and maintaining the first pass yield target of 95%.
- Responsible for maintaining the resource tracker and aligning with technical lead on the throughput.
- Maintaining the rack build documents to meet the required customer specific standards.
Requirements
- 5 years in datacenter rack build, integration, or infrastructure project management.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling (Cat6A, fiber, QSFP/DAC), rack elevations, BOMs.
- Experience with compute/storage/network hardware (Dell, HPE, NetApp, Cisco, Arista).
- Proficiency with PMO tools.
- Knowledge of power design (A/B feeds, PDUs, busway) and safety/compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and vendor/technician management skills.
