Sycamore Mission Critical is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer in Ashburn, VA with 3 years of experience. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be expected to work closely with subcontractors and vendors on construction sites to perform functional testing of various electrical systems. This testing ensures that the systems operate according to design criteria and meet the high standards required by Sycamore Mission Critical's clients.

These companies demand precision and reliability in their electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted operations. Due to this, attention to detail is a critical requirement for any Commissioning Engineer. You will need verify that each component and system functions correctly and adheres to the specified design criteria.
Job Duties Include:
Client Interaction: Engage with the client’s onsite personnel to understand their requirements and collaboratively develop site operational procedures and standards. This includes regular meetings and consultations to stay aligned with the client's needs and expectations.
Procedure Development: Create detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) specific to data center operations. Ensure these documents are comprehensive and effectively address all aspects of operational workflows.
Lease Agreement Review: Analyze lease agreements to ensure compliance with all stipulated terms and identify any potential scope gaps that could impact operations. This requires keen attention to detail and thorough knowledge of legal and operational standards.
Report Analysis: Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of various operational reports, including performance metrics, maintenance logs, and incident reports. Use this information to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
Root Cause Analysis: Develop root cause analysis reports for critical issues that arise within the data center. These reports should provide a clear diagnosis of the problem, as well as actionable recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency operational calls. Provide technical support and guidance to resolve urgent issues, ensuring minimal disruption to data center operations.
Power Consumption Monitoring: Regularly review power consumption reports to ensure efficient use of energy resources. Identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
Equipment Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) equipment issues. Solve related problems using advanced diagnostic techniques and industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Background: A U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field, or the foreign degree equivalent. Alternatively, equivalent military or maritime experience in a technical electrical or mechanical systems field will be considered.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the offered role or similar positions. This experience should include functional performance testing on electrical or mechanical systems, as well as hands-on experience in data center operations and troubleshooting facility issues.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems. Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements is essential.
