Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Center Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure. This role requires a strong foundation in computer networking, telecommunication systems, and low-voltage electrical work. Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Ethernet switches such as Cat5 and Cat6 cabling.
- Perform fiber splicing and cable management for high-speed data transmission.
- Troubleshoot and repair network issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and other testing tools.
- Support telecommunication systems including VoIP, Avaya, and telephony hardware.
- Conduct routine inspections of data center hardware, including servers, switches, and power supplies.
- Assist with the installation of network systems and other security infrastructure.
- Perform low-voltage wiring tasks following NEC standards for electrical safety and compliance.
- Use hand tools and power tools for equipment installation, repair, and cabling tasks.
- Document system configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Collaborate with field service teams to resolve on-site technical issues efficiently.

- Coordination and Removal of Cabling
- Troubleshooting of Network Connections
- Outage Bridges - Troubleshoot Cabling
- Entries into Hardware Receiving System (HRS)
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar IT/data center role with hands-on knowledge of computer hardware, networking equipment, and telecommunication systems.
- Familiarity with network installation protocols including Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), schematics reading, and low-voltage wiring standards (NEC).
- Experience working with Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Avaya systems, and VoIP solutions.
- Knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and cable management best practices.
- Ability to use testing instruments such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN concepts, Ethernet standards, and telephony systems.
- Electrical experience including power distribution and equipment repair is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for field service assignments.
