About Swysh Den
The Swysh Den is a premier membership-based athletic facility that opened in the heart of Scottsdale, AZ, in the summer of 2025. Our state-of-the-art facility caters to athletes of all ages and skill levels, featuring basketball and volleyball courts, weight training and performance equipment, recovery lounges, and social spaces. As a hub for athletic development, we provide a safe, inspiring environment for athletes to achieve their goals. The Swysh Den will also host Summer Camps and is building partnerships with local sports organizations. We anticipate a membership base of 300–400 athletes by the end of 2025.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Youth Basketball Coach who is passionate about developing athletes and contributing to the success of our training facility. This role position combines hands-on basketball coaching with key operational and management responsibilities.
As a Youth Basketball Coach, you will work closely with athletes from elementary to high school, helping them refine their skills, improve conditioning, and gain a deeper understanding of the game. Your expertise in player and trainer/coach development will be essential in designing and implementing effective training programs tailored to different skill levels.
Key Responsibilities
Player Development:
Conduct on-court skill development sessions for athletes of various skill levels.
Facilitate personal and small-group training sessions.
Guide athletes in using performance and training equipment effectively.
Facility Operations:
Maintain a clean, safe, and fully operational facility.
Perform sales transactions for memberships, training packages, apparel, and more.
Provide tours to prospective members, showcasing the facility and its services.
Customer Engagement:
Answer inquiries about services, schedules, and memberships.
Promote The Swysh Den through social media and community events.
Build positive relationships with members and guests.
Team Collaboration:
Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
Support and Manage Basketball Trainers; maintaining an energetic, team-focused environment.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Deep knowledge of basketball fundamentals and coaching techniques.
Experience coaching players at various skill levels (D1 experience preferred).
Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
First Aid Certification.
Basketball Coaching Certification.
Concussion Certification.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
Customer service experience is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, jog, and jump for extended periods.
Demonstrate basketball movements during training sessions.
Perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and moving training equipment (e.g., shooting machines).
Work Environment:
Thrive in a team-oriented atmosphere with high energy and positivity.
Maintain a professional demeanor with integrity and enthusiasm.
Additional Requirements:
Background Check: ability to pass prior to employment
Valid Driver’s License: Required if the role involves travel for events, camps, or training
Drug Screening: Ability to pass prior to employment
Flexible Hours: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate basketball schedules and events.
Proof of Eligibility to Work in the U.S.: per local laws and regulations.
Completion of Safety and Compliance Training: per Company Handbook.
Child Protection Training: Certificate required per the Company Handbook.
