What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUD Technician position at Swope Health?
The SUD Technician, under the guidance of the lmani House Supervisor, will actively participate in the planning and facilitation of group education and counseling classes. The SUD Technician will be responsible for documenting group interactions, interventions and outcomes. The SUD Technician will assist in the supervision and monitoring of inpatient, outpatient, day treatment and after care clients. The SUD Technician will provide support and assistance for lmani special events and Programs (e.g. Drug Awareness month, graduations, etc.)
Primary Functions:
1. Thorough and accurate completion of Triage and Registration Paperwork and entry into eCW.
2. Adequate coordination and communication with Intake Coordinator in scheduling and admission of Inpatient and Outpatient Clients.
3. Planning and Facilitation of group education and counseling classes in conjunction with Counselors and/or assigned personnel.
4. Assist qualified substance abuse professionals in the supervision of clients while on duty.
5. Monitor activities of clients and maintain accountability for client population at all times.
6. Assist in meal service and other activities of daily living.
7. Document individual client progress and incident reports and report such occurrences to the Supervisor, Counselor and/or Addictions Director.
8. Assist with UAs at designated times.
9. Assist with new client intake processes, orient new clients to facility policies and procedures and perform routine rounds to ensure client safety.
Secondary Functions:
1. Transport residents to appointments and/or recreational activities.
2. Attend all required in-service training sessions and certification programs.
3. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D required
Experience & Qualifications
1. Applicants must have experience with successful maintenance of a recovery lifestyle.
2. Applicants must have interest in working with clients seeking help to recover from substance abuse.
3. Must have a valid driver's license and a working vehicle for daily use.
4. Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
5. Experience working with chemically dependent clients preferred.
6. Must be patient and responsible.
SUD Technician will participate in a formal education and development plan under the supervision of the lmani House Supervisor to achieve RASAC certification.
