Job Summary: The Wireless Technician plays a critical role in delivering reliable wireless telecommunications services by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of wireless systems. Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, this role ensures that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer and carrier standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Wireless Technician is responsible for:
- Installing, maintaining, testing, repairing, and upgrading wireless systems, including rooftop macro sites, pole mounts, small cells, and distributed antenna systems (indoor and outdoor).
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings to determine optimal cable and equipment routes.
- Installing and labeling coax cables, antennas, racks, and remote units in compliance with industry standards.
- Performing cable sweeps, spectrum analysis, and return/insertion loss testing; conducting PIM testing and implementing mitigation measures.
- Splicing and testing fiber using OTDRs, fusion splicers, and other diagnostic equipment to ensure quality and reliability.
- Operating lifts and bucket trucks safely to perform work at height.
- Supporting engineers and project managers with field data, equipment setup, and site readiness.
- Ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and carrier compliance standards.
