Description
The BATFE Compliance Clerk is accountable for assisting the store management team with firearms compliance as required by Federal, State, and Local laws. Responsible for the review, scanning, organizing, and checking of the 4473s, the accuracy of the bound book, and other duties as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
· Deliver the World’s Greatest Firearm Experience.
· Understands and is proficient in firearms sales and forms as required by Federal, State, and Local laws; Form 4473, Multiple Sale Form (3310.4), and NFA Forms.
· Teaches, coaches, and trains Associates on operational processes and compliance standards; coaches and counsels Associates as needed for continuous improvement.
· Ensures complete and unwavering Federal ATF compliance. Responsible for ensuring Associates are proficient in firearm forms as required by Federal, State, and Local laws; Form 4473, Multiple Handgun Sale forms, and etc.
· Reviews, maintains, and corrects both completed 4473 paperwork and bound book entries.
· Assists in all NFA form filing and compliance.
· Diligently reviews ATF procedures and policies, including new proposed rulings.
· Contacts customers via telephone, certified mail, or e-mail concerning necessary corrections to 4473 forms to keep the retail location in compliance with Local, State, and Federal laws.
· Enters and reports accurate data and information in a timely and professional manner.
· Conducts monthly firearms audits and works diligently to fix any errors that may appear.
· Completes all ATF Gun Traces as requested.
· Maintains meticulous records of 4473s and all relevant forms.
· Scans and renames all completed 4473s. Ensures all forms are corrected, up to date, and organized in store and on the Share Drive.
· Must be able to lift and carry boxes up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
Minimal formal education:
· High School graduate or equivalent degree required
· Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Minimum job content knowledge required:
· Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures
· Knowledgeable with Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Skills in coaching, teaching, training, and organization
Minimum experience required:
· Completion and comprehension of all employee trainings
