PURPOSE: 
The Vehicle Detailer is responsible for supporting daily vehicle processing operations by performing basic detailing and facility upkeep tasks. Core responsibilities include moving vehicles safely throughout the facility, washing and vacuuming vehicles, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. This includes sweeping, mopping, operating floor‑cleaning equipment, and managing waste disposal such as trash and cardboard.
This is an entry‑level role, and most tasks beyond the core functions can be trained on the job. A clean driving record is essential due to the frequent movement of vehicles. Previous experience in automotive detailing is beneficial but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Retrieve vehicles from parking areas and safely transport them to the wash and detailing area.
• Move vehicles throughout the facility, including staging and delivery areas.
• Hand wash exterior surfaces of vehicles.
• Clean windows inside and outside.
• Dry vehicle exteriors and apply cleaning solutions to wheels and tires.
• Vacuum interiors and clean all interior surfaces.
• Perform final inspections to ensure vehicles meet presentation standards.
• Transfer vehicles to the delivery bay when available.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including sweeping, mopping, and operating floor-cleaning equipment.
• Manage waste disposal, including trash and cardboard removal.
• Follow standard work procedures and apply basic problem-solving practices.
• Adhere to workplace organization and safety standards (e.g., 5S principles).
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

REQUIRED SKILLS:

•  Basic knowledge of vehicles, automotive parts, and cleaning tools/equipment is helpful.
• Understanding of proper vehicle cleaning techniques is a plus.
• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.critically under pressure.
• Work is performed in a vehicle processing and service facility.
• Requires frequent movement of vehicles and physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Must meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements and maintain a clean driving record.

PREFERED SKILLS

• Previous automotive detailing experience is beneficial but not required.
• This is an entry-level position; most tasks can be learned on the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:

• Location: Greer, SC
• Schedule: First shift from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Overtime: as required
• Assignment Start: ASAP
