Job Role: AWS EKS Consultant

Location: Remote

Overview

AWS EKS Consultant to support an EKS takeout/migration initiative. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and mandatory expertise in Karpenter for autoscaling and node management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize EKS clusters for migration/takeout.
  • Configure and manage Karpenter for cluster autoscaling.
  • Migrate workloads into EKS following AWS best practices.
  • Improve cluster security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot Kubernetes and AWS-related issues.
  • Provide documentation and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills

  • 5 years in Cloud/DevOps; 3 years with production EKS.
  • Strong, hands-on Karpenter experience (mandatory).
  • Kubernetes expertise (networking, security, Helm, troubleshooting).
  • AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch).
  • IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Scripting (Bash/Python).

Nice to Have

  • GitOps tools (ArgoCD/Flux).
  • AWS certifications.
  • Experience with EKS Blueprints or large-scale migrations.
