Swiss-Tech is a precision manufacturing company that is family-owned with a 60-year history. We supply top quality parts to customers in defense, medical and aerospace companies. We are in a growth mode and looking to expand our workforce to help support this. We offer on the job training to develop our best asset, our people.
We are looking to add several Material Handlers to a new re-designed cell that will support one of our biggest customers. The Material Handler is responsible for handling bar stock from the delivery truck to storage, and to the machine. They are also responsible for performing the raw material inventory control function.
We have multiple openings for this role:
- Sunday to Tuesday with alternating Wednesday 5:00am to 5:30pm
Responsibilities include:
- Wipe Bar Stock on each machine before loading
- Load stock into each machine
- Transact material from inventory to job, maintain lot traceability
- Tumble parts and keep up with machine
- Inspect material for shape, size, and general condition against specifications listed on copy of P.O., using appropriate inspection equipment.
- Identify accepted material with the prepared tag, place material into storage, or issue material to a job. Make appropriate data entry.
- Use pick lists to issue raw material to jobs. Log transaction in database or on daily log. Points bars. Cut bars to lengths as needed.
- Employ hoists, carts, forklifts, and the assistance of others to handle heavy loads.
- Observe the safety rules for the department. Lift properly and follow other ergonomic principles. Practices good housekeeping at all times.
- Maintain and take periodic, physical inventories of raw material.
- Know and understand the relevant sections of ST’s ISO Quality Management System and how they apply to this job.
