Position Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing daily production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency, leading and coaching production teams, implementing lean manufacturing practices, analyzing performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor will also manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), conduct root cause analyses, and utilize systems such as Deacom and UniPoint to resolve issues and enhance manufacturing processes in accordance with all FDA, GMP, OSHA and Swiss American quality guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly production activities to meet output, quality, and safety targets.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching to maintain productivity, engagement, and a positive work environment.
- Lead shift meetings, track performance metrics and KPIs such as yield, cycle time, scrap rate, downtime, and safety incidents; analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, Sanitation, and material handlers to troubleshoot and resolve production bottlenecks.
- Assist with employee training and development to enhance cross-functional skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports for compliance, performance tracking, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Analyze and maximize production efficiency through proficient use of employees, our ERP, and equipment.
- Ensure all employees are working in a safe environment.
- Tracks training for employees.
- Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained.
- Ensure the packaging area is clean and organized.
- Ensure all raw material given to packaging is reconciled and is accurate for item, quantity, and release status.
- Ensure all finished goods delivered to the warehouse are reconciled and accurate for quantity.
- Ensure products are made as per the set schedule
- Ensure all products are manufactured according to customer specifications and FDA, GMP, and OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure all documentation associated with packaging meets all FDA, GMP, and internal quality requirements.
- Ensure all non-conformances for raw materials, processes, and finished goods are documented and corrective actions are implemented when applicable through NCR’s and RCAS
- Ensure timely and accurate PTO and labor tracking and approval.
- Support processes that create timely and efficient workflow.
- Follow and recommend procedures for the systematic set up, production and changeover of products and production lines through NCR’s.
- Prepare activity reports directed by the Manufacturing Manager.
- Coordinate activities with Manufacturing Manager, Scheduling, Quality Assurance, and other departments to ensure business needs are met.
- Review and adjust schedules, production reports, and manpower plans at the line level.
- Conduct employee evaluations and reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- 1-2 years of experience in packaging operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of the organization.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data, interpret reports, and make informed decisions.
- Critical thinking skills to develop effective solutions to operational challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- 1-2 years of experience with inventory management systems.
- 2-5 years of experience supervising a team, including planning, assigning, and directing work.
- 1-2 years of experience in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing staff.
- 2-5 years of experience in conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, and resolving employee concerns.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards, always ensuring compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or engineering.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish
- Certified forklift driver.
- Familiarity with additional relevant software applications, such as ERP or MES systems.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards relevant to packaging (e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO).
