Key Responsibilities:
- Support the end-to-end migration from a legacy ILS to Ex Libris Alma/Primo
- Create, edit, and manage bibliographic metadata using a variety of standards (MARC, RDA, Dublin Core, MODS)
- Conduct metadata cleanup and transformation using tools such as MarcEdit, OpenRefine, and regular expressions
- Utilize controlled vocabularies and authority files (e.g., LCSH, MeSH, LCNAF, VIAF)
- Collaborate with stakeholders on metadata strategy and schema mapping
- Lead metadata testing, quality assurance, and validation efforts during and after migration
- Implement SUSHI protocols and support discovery layer optimization
- Provide documentation and metadata workflows as part of project deliverables
- Participate in team meetings, progress reviews, and reporting
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program (or international equivalent)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in metadata creation and management in a library setting, including original cataloging
- Proficiency with metadata standards (e.g., MARC, Dublin Core, MODS, RDA) and authority control tools
- Experience with metadata cleanup and transformation tools (e.g., MarcEdit, OpenRefine)
- At least five (5) years of experience working with integrated library systems (ILS) or library services platforms (LSP)
- Demonstrated leadership of at least one successful ILS/LSP migration project
- Familiarity with implementing SUSHI protocols
- Experience working with Ex Libris Alma/Primo and/or Innovative Interfaces Inc. Sierra
- Experience merging or consolidating collections across multiple library institutions
- Experience using Collibra or similar data management systems, particularly in linking metadata to library discovery systems
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Must have prior experience working on federal government contracts or within a federal agency library setting
