Position Overview

This role ensures on-time delivery of parts and documentation in full compliance with purchase order specifications. The Expeditor will prepare delivery performance reports, conduct delay analysis, update PO delivery dates, and support claims management while maintaining detailed documentation throughout the order lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for on-time delivery of parts and documentation in accordance with purchase order specifications
- Ensure documented order close-out, including shipping/receiving discrepancies and invoice discrepancies
- Contribute to increased back charges related to cost deficiencies
- Provide support to claims management
- Comply with Project Order Management and Expediting Procedures based on supplier type, critical parts, and critical suppliers
- Determine critical equipment based on delivery requirements
- Monitor and support supplier kick-off meetings
- Participate in pre-inspection meetings for critical equipment, as required
- Monitor purchase order delivery dates through email, phone calls, and other communication methods
- Report delivery nonconformities and raise appropriate alerts to project and planning teams when delays are identified
- Conduct expediting visits to suppliers, including reinforced expediting for underperforming suppliers
- Compile and issue expediting visit reports and meeting minutes
- Proactively monitor supplier activities including design development, material procurement, manufacturing, testing, and shipping preparation
- Review vendor progress reports and fabrication schedules; raise alerts for deviations
- Interface with suppliers, Engineering, and Inspection departments to monitor VDDR and other technical issues impacting production
- Monitor and address delayed critical vendor documentation in coordination with Document Control
- Follow up on open points and punch lists with suppliers in cooperation with multiple disciplines
- Manage third-party agencies
- Identify delivery risks and initiate corrective actions, including collection and review of supplier recovery plans in collaboration with AL
- Enter and maintain tracking data in progress management tools, dashboards, manual tables, or SAP systems as required
- Compile and issue monthly expediting reports in accordance with established guidelines
- Maintain a claim dossier for each purchase order, including schedules, progress, and deficiencies
- Support claim leaders during supplier claim negotiations
- Ensure proper commercial and contractual notifications are in place in collaboration with Buyers
- Provide input for post-order supplier performance evaluations
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, or Engineering OR
- 5 years of relevant experience in buying, expediting, post-order management, or supply chain functions
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with machining, castings, and raw material suppliers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and G Suite
- Experience with SAP
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
