What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Estimator position at Swinerton Builders?
We're looking for an experienced Drywall Estimator to join our team in Bellevue, WA. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, analyzing drawings and specifications, soliciting subcontractor/vendor pricing, and helping secure high-profile commercial construction projects.
What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed drywall and framing estimates for commercial construction projects
- Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications
- Review bid documents and identify scope gaps and bid risks
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Collaborate with operations, project management, and field teams
- Support value engineering and project pursuit efforts
- Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of drywall estimating experience
- Experience estimating metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and interior finishes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of Division 9 scopes
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Planswift, OST, Quick Bid, or similar estimating software
- Commercial construction experience required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
- Large commercial projects including office, healthcare, education, hospitality, mixed-use, aviation, or technology facilities
- Experience with self-perform drywall operations
