Human and Social Service Assistant (Towson, MD)

Human and Social Service Assistant needed for our government client in Towson, MD. The Human and Social Service Assistant will provide front desk case management support for those seeking medical services. Six month contract position with possible extension or contract to hire consideration. The non-negotiable pay rate is $19.00 per hour.Essential Duties:Update Social Worker staff on any health changes relating to overall care.Greets visitors and schedules appointments at the front desk.Reviews client files to ensure that all documents are signed and completed per contract compliance.Receives and routes incoming mail.Interviews clients and reviews applications and other forms to determine eligibility for financial aid or other services according to established guidelines. Explains program policies and procedures to clients. Assists clients and others in obtaining supportive information as required and contacts other agencies to verify information. Assists in placing clients into other programs.Computes dollar amounts of grants for clients based on established guidelines. Initiates procedures to grant, modify, deny or terminate clients' participation in program.Regularly reviews clients' activities with professionals in program. Maintains detailed records of cases and assembles these into periodic reports.Qualifications:At least one year of case management experience is required.Must have graduated from an accredited college or university with an Associates in Arts Degree in Social or Behavioral Science, Psychology, Public Health or related is required.Must have proficient Microsoft Word and Excel skills.Must be able to work from 8:30 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 30 minute non paid lunch.Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.We offer weekly pay, sick pay hours, health insurance, referral bonuses, a one time longevity bonus, holiday pay and a Roth 401K plan.
