Oiler/Greaser

About the Role:

The Night Oiler/Greaser plays a critical role in maintaining the operational efficiency and longevity of machinery and equipment by ensuring all moving parts are properly lubricated. This position involves routine inspection, lubrication, and minor maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical failures and reduce downtime. The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance teams to identify lubrication needs and apply appropriate oils and greases according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential to detect early signs of wear or malfunction and to take corrective action promptly. Ultimately, this role supports the smooth and safe operation of industrial equipment, contributing to overall productivity and workplace safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and lubrication principles.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate hand tools safely.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and working in various positions.
• Valid work authorization to be employed in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an Oiler/Greaser or in a similar maintenance role.
• Familiarity with industrial machinery and lubrication equipment.
• Basic mechanical or technical training or certification.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
• Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with team members.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular lubrication of machinery and equipment using oils, greases, and other lubricants as specified.
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear, leaks, or mechanical issues and report findings to maintenance supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of lubrication activities, including types of lubricants used and equipment serviced.
• Assist maintenance personnel with minor repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during all lubrication and maintenance activities.

The required skills enable the Night Oiler/Greaser to accurately apply lubricants and perform inspections that prevent equipment failure, ensuring continuous operation.
