What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales Associate position at Swift Events?
We're hiring a Retail Sales Associate in Cleveland, and we'd rather tell you what the job actually involves than dress it up.
You'll spend most of your day on the sales floor: talking to customers, recommending products, handling transactions, and keeping everything looking sharp. Some days fly by. Some customers are a joy, a few will test your patience, and busy periods get genuinely hectic. If you can stay friendly and switched on through all of it, you'll do well here — and we'll notice.
No retail experience? That's fine. We provide paid training that covers everything from product knowledge to handling payments. What we can't train is attitude, so that part is on you.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Helping customers find what they need and recommending products honestly — no pushy selling
- Processing sales, returns, and exchanges
- Restocking and keeping product displays tidy through the day
- Answering questions about products, prices, and availability
- Hitting realistic sales goals as part of a team, not on your own
- Opening or closing duties depending on your shift
- Pitching in during deliveries, promotions, and seasonal rushes
You'll Be a Good Fit If You're
- Comfortable starting conversations with strangers
- Patient and level-headed, even with difficult customers
- Reliable — the team is counting on you to show up on time
- Happy on your feet for most of a shift
- Honest with cash, products, and customers alike
- Interested in learning how retail and sales actually work
Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience helps but isn't required.
