We are seeking a certified Smog Repair & Inspection Technician to support emissions diagnostics, repairs, and compliance within our service department.
This is a critical compliance-focused role inside a premium dealership environment.
Position Overview
The Smog Repair & Inspection Technician is responsible for performing California emissions inspections, diagnosing smog-related failures, and completing necessary repairs in accordance with BAR standards. This position is ideal for a technician who values:

Key Responsibilities
- Perform California smog inspections in accordance with BAR regulations
- Diagnose emissions failures and recommend appropriate repairs
- Complete smog-related repairs accurately and efficiently
- Maintain proper documentation and compliance records
- Collaborate with service advisors to clearly communicate findings
- Ensure all repairs meet Mercedes-Benz and state regulatory standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Performance Expectations
- Accurate and compliant inspections
- Minimal re-test failures
- Strong diagnostic accuracy
- Clean documentation and repair order quality
- Consistent flat-rate production (if applicable)
What It Takes
- Valid Smog Inspection and Repair license required
- Prior dealership experience preferred, Mercedes-Benz experience a plus
- ASE certifications a plus
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- Strong diagnostic ability
- Detail-oriented and process-driven
- High integrity and compliance mindset
- Comfortable working in a premium service environment
