Jr. Applications Engineer Job Description:Seeking candidate to support and assist remote FAE team, cross-functional teams to prepare, create setups and test features in lab.Develop, build & test setups to execute customer demos and trials.Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in lab.Manage inventory, logistics, schedules, shipping/receiving, IP addresses, S/W versions, etc.\Support customer demos, lab trials, field trials, and early deployments in Nokia labs & partners labs.Automation: Develop tools, write scripts which facilitates smooth execution of customer demos and trials. Education & Experience:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science or Optical Communication.BS with 3 years or MS with 1 year of hands-on experience in optical network industry preferably in optical transceivers. Skills/Qualifications/Experience:Good Knowledge on coherent optical networks.Knowledge on transceivers/pluggable is a plus.Proficiency in L2 and L3 routers and switches.Strong proficiency in Python programming language.Familiarity in other programming languages such as Java, MATLAB, VB.net, C#, and JavaScript.Experience with SSH, Telnet, API based automation and testing and tools.Hands-on experience working in lab environment turning up HW setups.Experience with Unix/Linux environments is a plus.Experience with test plan creation and execution for optical system trials.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Excellent organization skills with attention to detail.
