What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Title Clerk position at Sweetwater County?
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under general supervision performs public contact and clerical work in processing vehicle title applications and transfers; collects a variety of fees.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
Essential Duties:
Title Duties:
- Determines factory cost of vehicles;
- Issues title on vehicles;
- Perfects and releases liens;
- Issues transfer title extensions;
- Verifies data on applications and proof reads data on listings and notarizes titles;
- May process titles on county-owned vehicles.
Office Duties:
- Responds to phone and personal request for information;
- Types letters and other correspondence;
- Maintains files;
- Collects and accounts for fees;
- Enters data to computer;
- Prepares data to be sent to State;
- Records research;
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
Other Duties: Fills in for others; performs other duties as required.
