This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Washing and Conditioning Hair: The primary duty involves thoroughly washing clients' hair with shampoo and applying conditioner as needed. This includes rinsing out products effectively to ensure hair is clean and ready for styling.
- Scalp Massaging: Providing a relaxing scalp massage during the shampooing process to enhance the client experience and promote relaxation.
- Preparing the Shampoo Area: Setting up the shampooing area by ensuring all necessary products and tools are readily available and organized.
- Assisting Stylists: Supporting hairstylists by preparing clients for their services, which may include rinsing out color treatments or blow-drying hair after washing.
- Client Interaction: Greeting clients warmly, addressing their needs, and ensuring they feel comfortable during their visit. Building rapport is essential for client retention.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the salon area clean and organized, including washing towels, cleaning shampoo bowls, and ensuring all equipment is sanitized.
- Product Knowledge: Being knowledgeable about various hair care products and treatments to assist clients with recommendations and to apply specialty shampoos for specific scalp issues, such as dandruff.
