Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, upbeat, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team.
- Start: Part-time (2 days/week)
- Growth: Opportunity to transition to full-time (4 days/week) within ~6 months
This role is critical in delivering an efficient, high-quality clinical experience while helping children feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Assist the doctor during pediatric procedures (restorative, preventive, hygiene)
- Prepare and break down operatories efficiently
- Take high-quality dental radiographs
- Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols
- Assist with sedation cases (outpatient surgery center and hospital settings)
Patient Experience
- Create a calm, positive experience for children of all ages
- Use behavior guidance techniques and positive language
- Support and educate parents during visits
- Maintain a warm, engaging, and professional presence
Clinical Efficiency
- Keep rooms fully stocked and organized
- Anticipate provider needs during procedures
- Support on-time scheduling and patient flow
- Assist with charting and documentation
Team Collaboration
- Communicate clearly with clinical and front office teams
- Follow office systems and protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
Required Qualifications
- Dental Assistant Certification
- X-Ray Certification
- Nitrous Oxide Certification
- Coronal Polishing Certification
- Strong reliability and work ethic
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Pediatric dental experience
- Sealants Certification
- BLS Certification
- Experience with digital charting (CareStack or similar)
- Experience with pediatric behavior management
