We are hiring for a day time position!
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Companion to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering companionship, personal care, and assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have experience working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility support.
- Monitor and document any changes in client health status.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Prepare meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Support clients with memory care, including Alzheimer's and dementia-related needs.
- Follow the care plans tailored to individual client requirements.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, utilizing tools such as Hoyer lifts when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, senior care, or long-term care is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques.
- Experience working in group homes or assisted living facilities is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting as needed.
