Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, behavior, and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
- Support clients with medication reminders and administration under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of personal spaces
- Use manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
- Follow individualized care plans designed by healthcare professionals to meet specific health and emotional needs
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely and respond appropriately in emergency situations; CPR and first aid certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry efficiently
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and families
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks required for resident support
