Job Grade 108, Swing Shift Custodian
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students, and the general public.
- Adhere to and enforce district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform facility and equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance functions, including repair, part replacement (including ballasts), and adjustment tasks.
- Perform custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, washing walls, and changing light bulbs and lighting tubes.
- Perform emergency cleanup service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness.
- Maintain grounds.

Train and instruct substitute and temporary personnel in the performance of cleaning and facility maintenance functions.
- Prepare supply, material, and equipment requests in maintaining an adequate operational inventory.
- One year of experience in skilled custodial work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of:
- Methods, procedures, materials, and equipment utilized in cleaning and maintaining a variety of surfaces, equipment, and special purpose activity centers;
- General building maintenance;
- Safe working methods and procedures;
- Policies, regulations, and operational guidelines pertaining to the cleaning and maintenance of large school buildings, offices, and facilities.
- Ability to:
- Effectively maintain work schedules toward the accomplishment of assigned tasks;
- Perform light to moderately heavy manual activities;
- Effectively lead part-time or temporary custodial personnel and provide technical input into their work performance;
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill could be:
