Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), located in the Decatur and surrounding areas. The Registered Behavior Technician will implement behavior intervention plans, collect and document data for analysis, and collaborate with a team of behavior analysts and professionals to meet individualized treatment goals for clients. Responsibilities include providing direct care services, assisting in the implementation of applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques with a focus on compassionate and assent based care, and maintaining effective communication with clients, families, and other team members.

Qualifications

  • Compassion and patience with children is a must, we do not practice compliance training
  • Knowledge and experience in Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Skills or experience in Behavioral Intervention, ESDM, NET, PRT, and other naturalistic teaching
  • Play skills are a must
  • Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with clients, families, and team members
  • A collaborative attitude
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a commitment to producing accurate documentation and data collection
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required or the willingness to complete RBT certification training within the specified period
  • Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavior disorders is a plus
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred

Compensation

Starting compensation is based on experience and ranges from $30-35 per hour. Admin time is paid at half that rate which includes training. Benefits are provided after 90 days and include PTO, paid holidays, and more to come.

Shweet Behavior is a small company and hours start at part time with opportunities to be put on more cases as they come. Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

  • If a client has difficulty communicating, do you naturally look for non-verbal cues to understand their needs?
  • Do you take client behaviors personally?
  • In a high-stress moment, have you ever delayed giving a consequence because you wanted to avoid reacting emotionally?
  • A client begins screaming and hitting the table. You: 1. Physically stop them immediately. 2. Raise your voice so they hear you. 3. Pause, observe triggers, and follow the plan calmly.
  • A client refuses a presented task for 10 minutes. You: 1. Keep presenting the demand. 2. Prompt functional communication and move on. 3. Offer reinforcement. 4. End the session early.
  • A client cries during a demand. You: 1. Insist they complete it. 2. Give whatever they want. 3. Lower the demand, supportively, and reassess. 4. Move on without thought.
